The Alligators are:

Originally from Sudbury, MA, and a graduate of Boston University, Alan began playing drums in second grade, and clarinet in the fifth grade. He studied drums under the tutelage of jazz great Alan Dawson of the Dave Brubeck Quartet for 5 years. Alan also studied voice under Mark Baxter, voice teacher to Steven Tyler, Peter Wolf and Gary Cherone, and author of The Rock and Roll Singer’s Survival Guide. In addition, Alan has performed with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees The Platters, Greg Hawkes of The Cars, and T Lavitz of The Dixie Dregs, Jefferson Starship, and Pat Benetar fame. Alan can be seen playing guitar in the Acoustic Alligators, and also does a solo acoustic act on guitar and voice.

Originally from Medford, New York, “24 Hour Tom” as he is known by friends and fans, is the consummate musical entertainer. Armed with 4 strings, big voice, and witty humor, Tom is a talented solo performer, popular free-lance bassist, and also leads the Baker Thomas Band (that includes Alan Goodrich on drums). In addition to adding bass guitar to the Alligators band and Acoustic Alligators duo, Tom also hosts the long running “Singer Songwriter Series” at Somerville’s The Burren, the “Open Mic Challenge” at The Lizard Lounge in Cambridge, MA, and is a tireless advocate for local music and the arts in the Boston area. Tom is an electrifying performer and his powerful bass sound and technique rounds out the Alligator’s live act with style.

Originally from the NYC Tri-state area, Doren is a seasoned performer and flexible sideman, having played with acts including NY Blues legend “Lil’ Cliff” Bernard, New England’s Wilder Road, The Kit Holliday Band and Bang Box. A catalog of original material has resulted in two solo releases for DTG Records, CDs “Doren“ (1994) and “Strange Parade“ (2000), both releases generating glowing national press. Doren also contributed guitar work to several tracks on the critically acclaimed “Willoughby” by Mike “Sport” Murphy (Kill Rock Stars Records). Doren first began playing with The Alligators in 1996 as a “guest gator” and has been performing regularly in the band since 2007. His fiery and energetic guitar style brings an exciting element to The Alligators’ live shows.
